About us . . .
The Babes Against Cancer program (formerly known as the
Babe Zaharias Tournaments) raises over $1 million annually through the joint efforts of over 400 volunteers and 5,000 participants at 20+ country clubs in the New York Metro area. A major force in cancer support that just celebrated its 50th year, Babes Against Cancer clubs, led by powerful volunteer Club Chairs, have raised over $37 million since 1972. Funds support the American Cancer Society, the world's leading cancer-fighting organization with a mission
to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
The American Cancer Society is the nation's principal voluntary health organization and has contributed to a 25 percent decline in the cancer death rate in the U.S. over the last 10 years, driven by less smoking, better treatments, and earlier detection. The largest private, not-for-profit investor in cancer research, ACS ensures people facing cancer have the help they need and continually fights for access to quality health care and lifesaving screenings.

The American Cancer Society is on a mission to free the world from cancer, conducting and funding ground-breaking research, sharing expert information, supporting patients and their families and championing cancer prevention. A 24/7 cancer helpline is ready to connect callers to a trained specialist or to lend a compassionate ear. The ACS website allows you to login and enter a chatroom filled with like-minded patients who can provide insight and education on what to expect after diagnosis and how treatments can affect your daily life. The ACS also offers lodging assistance through their nation-wide Hope Lodges and their hotel partners program, plus they’ll assist you if you need rides to and from treatment.
The Babes Against Cancer program has raised over $37 million since its inception in 1972, with funds supporting both breast and prostate cancer programs and research.
